Fuel black-marketing

RUKUM: Despite the resumption of smooth supply of petroleum products, the price of fuel has yet to stabilise in Rukum. Locals complained that they had to pay Rs 150 to Rs 200 for a litre of petrol at district headquarters Khalanga. They said the concerned administration had turned a blind eye to the rampant black-marketing in the district. Petroleum products are being openly sold at higher prices in different markets of the district. Operators of Musikot-based Laxmi Dajubhai Auto Shop and Malla Hardware have been accused of selling fuel at an inflated price. Meanwhile, the local administration said the office was unaware of black-marketing in the district. Chief District Officer Antar Bahadur Silwal of Rukum also expressed ignorance about the problem, but pledged to take action against black-marketers. Black-marketing of fuel continues unabated at Solabang, Jhulneta, Radibazaar and Chorjahari.
