Gaddhi pledges good governance

Janakpurdham, February 27

Chief Minister of Province 2 Mohammad Lal Babu Raut Gaddhi today expressed his commitment to establish good governance in the province.

Speaking at a province-level interaction organised by Poverty Alleviation Fund in Janakpurdham today, CM Raut said the Provincial Assembly would make all necessary laws on time for good governance. Earlier, CM Raut had made an 11-point commitment to guarantee good governance in the province.

He claimed that the provincial government would not budge from its zero tolerance policy against corruption. “Stringent action will be taken against those who fail to implement projects after taking the budget. We will leave no stone unturned in fighting corruption,” said CM Raut, adding that development and prosperity of the province was not possible in the traditional way.

Raut said he was committed to ensuring effective implementation of federalism in the country. However, he underscored the need of proper coordination and support from the federal government and warned of staging a sit-in on the premises of Ramjanaki Temple if the province did not get the necessary support.

He also took the opportunity to draw the attention of authorities concerned to the need to collect accurate data on the human development index and population. He urged stakeholders to launch poverty alleviation programmes.

Poverty Alleviation Fund Vice-chairperson Yam Bahadur Thapa said the province had allocated 25 per cent of the total budget for poverty alleviation programmes.
