Nepali Congress central member Gagan Thapa said building a prosperous country is the need of the hour.

Addressing a party election mass meeting in Lekhnath Metropolis today, the Congress leader presented his party as the only defender of the country and said, “As Congress fulfilled its pledge to make peace and promulgate the constitution, now is the time that calls for victory of the party in the local polls to build a prosperous Nepal.”

Further, the leader, who is also the health minister, identified NC as the only party that can move the country ahead by taking all the communities of the hills, mountains and the Tarai into confidence.

“This is a country of all who reside in Nepal, not only of those who wear the Nepali cap. It belongs equally to those who wear dhoti. NC has the ability to make everyone understand this and take the country on the path of prosperity,” he said, who also shared his vision of a prosperous Pokhara.

Various other leaders including former NC general secretary and former speaker Taranath Ranabhat and party central member Badri Nepali spoke urging voters to trust the NC.
