Gaighat-Diktel road damaged
GAIGHAT: Property worth Rs 1.13 million was destroyed after the gravel and hume pipes were swept away by landslides that occurred in mid-July in different places along the Gaighat-Diktel road section.
According to the Gaighat-Diktel road project, rainfall this year damaged the road section badly. Site in-charge of the project Nirjan Shrestha said the rainfalls had damaged the road at Saune, Ranibas, Phoxintar, Mahure and Simpani where landslides swept away the road.
Transportation service was obstructed for 15 days after landslides following rainfall destroyed the road. Project Chief Pashupati Gyawali said transportation service had resumed after the road was repaired. “We have started new construction in the damaged areas of the road section,” he informed.
