Rautahat, January 14:

Gaur residents accused a physician of negligence leading to the death of a child and staged a demonstration against head of the hospital, Dr Ram Shanker Thakur, on Sunday.

Pallavi Keshari, 12-year-old daughter of Nirmal Keshari of Gaur Municipality ward no 9, was admitted to Rautahat district hospital after she complained of headache on January 6 but died while undergoing treatment there.

Hundreds of Gaur residents chanted slogans against Thakur and briefly gheraoed the hospital. Dr Thakur claimed that the child was suffering from brain tumor and that her guardians were largely responsible for her death.
