Gautam believes NC will yield on

Nepalgunj, November 8:

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam today expressed his confidence that the Nepali Congress would join the Special Committee on Army Integration.

Speaking at a press meet in Nepalgunj, Gautam, who is also the coordinator of the committee, said, “Though the Nepali Congress and Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party have been demanding to dissolve the committee, they would finally come to an agreement to join it.”

Gautam was on his way to inaugurate CPN-UML’s district conference in Humla today.

Saying that he has not spoken anything about using force to solve the Tarai problem,

he said he rather spoke about controlling the criminal activities.

The Home Minister also admitted that security situation was yet to be improved and the government would concentrate more on security situation once the budget is approved by the legislature-parliament. Commenting on Vice-President Paramananda Jha’s recent remarks, Gautam said Jha could not be impeached based on what he spoke. In a query whether the defence minister had met criminals involved in Ramhari Shrestha’s murder, he said the government had no formal information about it.
