Girl injured in Siraha cooking gas cylinder explosion
LAHAN: A girl sustained injuries after a cooking gas cylinder exploded in Lahan Municipality-8 of Siraha on Tuesday.
Anjali Kumari, 12-year-old daughter of Narendra Bahadur Sah, was injured after the incident took place in the house of their neighbour Surya Bahadur Sahu.
The fire sparked from the explosion gutted property worth over 2.4 million, police said.
Property worth Rs 2 million belonging to tenants Tej Narayan Chaudhary, Suresh Yadav and Bhikhan Sah was destroyed along with Rs. 500,000 cash belonging to Sahu, police added.
The cooking gas cylinder went off in course of preparing snacks at around 12 pm. The cause of the explosion is yet to be known.
Meanwhile, Kumari is receiving treatment at a local health facility.
The fire was doused by Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel and locals.
