Gold trader’s body found inside parked jeep

Biratnagar, March 3

Body of Sanam Shakya, 36, operating a gold shop in Urlabari Municiplaity-7, Morang, was found inside a parked Scorpio jeep today.

Police have arrested three persons from the jeep with Shakya’s body. According to Morang police, Shakya’s body was found inside the jeep during security screening of the vehicle parked at Durgachowk in Biratnagar Metropolis-3.

Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar BC said that three persons arrested might have murdered Shakya and they were trying to hide the body by keeping it in the jeep. The names of the arrested have been kept confidential for fair investigation. “Investigation is under way by keeping them in the custody,” SP BC said.

Shakya might have been killed in premeditated manner, SP BC said. Preliminary investigation shows that Shakya was electrocuted as there are black bruises and spots all over the body. The body has been kept at KoshiZonal Hospital for post-mortem. “The post-mortem report will show how the murder took place,” SP BC said.

A source said Shakya was abducted last Tuesday. Police, however, are tight-lipped about whether or not Shakya was kidnapped.
