KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 23
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has articulated that the pursuit of good governance, social justice, and prosperity is synonymous with the journey towards socialism.
Emphasizing that good governance forms the bedrock of socialism, PM Dahal stressed the imperative of controlling corruption to establish good governance during an address at a program held here on Friday.
He asserted, 'Socialism remains unattainable unless the rights of the poor and peasants are addressed,' highlighting the need for equitable wages in proportion to one's work. 'Good governance, social justice, and the journey towards prosperity are intricately intertwined,' he added.
PM Dahal attributed the establishment of a federal democratic republic to workers' unity, right ideologies, and leadership, urging the audience to reflect positively on the sacrifices made during various movements and recognize achievements in inclusion, particularly the rights of women, indigenous peoples, Madhesi, and Muslims.
He reminded the audience that the current situation is a result of the sacrifices made by martyrs and emphasized that workers and peasants are the vanguards of the socialist revolution, advising clarity of thought among workers.
Furthermore, PM Dahal cautioned against reactionary forces attempting to undermine the achievements of the federal democratic republic, urging vigilance against such efforts.
Regarding the transitional justice backlog, PM Dahal proposed the enactment of a law to address it, ensuring reparations and respect for conflict victims.
