Light aftershock of ML 4.3 jolts Sindhupalchok

KATHMANDU: A light tremor of local magnitude 4.3 struck Sindhupalchok district in central Nepal on Saturday morning.
The National Seismological Centre, Lainchaur, listed it as an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake that rattled Nepal on April 25 last year.
The tremor was recorded at 5:05 am today. The epicentre was close to Helambu of the district, with its coordinates of given as 27.97°N, 85.55°E.
NSC has recorded more than 30,000 aftershocks of the Gorkha earthquake sequence in one year.
It, however, processed the data of around 453 significant aftershocks and alerted the public about the seismic events through its website.
