Govt committed to speed up development projects: PM Dahal

BIRGUNJ: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government is serious to execute the construction of the national pride projects with priority.

Addressing an interaction on the construction of national pride projects including Kathmandu-Nijgadh Fast Track and Nijgadh International Airport here today, PM Dahal shared that the government was prioritising developmental projects. He added that the construction of postal highway began as per his talks with his Indian Counterpart during his state visit to India.

The PM said the government also focuses on the construction of Railway in Tarai while sharing that he had instructed the authorities concerned to complete the national pride projects including Melamchi Drinking Water Projects and Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project in stipulated time.

He said that the government was serious to address the problems of Taniya locals as they might be displaced for the construction programme of Nijgadh Airport.

Meanwhile, PM Dahal ruled out the relevance of hunger strike launched by the locals demanding to begin construction works of Fast Track. He said that the construction works will begin within a month. It may be noted that some locals are in hunger strike demanding the same for the past eight days.

PM Dahal further claimed that all problems of landless squatters and environmental effect would be addressed while constructing the Airport.

Similarly, lawmaker Ram Ayodhya Prasad Yadav demanded the Constitution amendment process be forwarded before announcing the date for local polls.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the 'Fish Zone' programme under the PM Agriculture Modernisation Project at Simrangadh of Bara today itself.
