Government condemns New Zealand mosque shootings

KATHMANDU: Issuing a statement on Friday, the Government of Nepal (GoN) said it is shocked by reports of shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand that left at least 49 dead and dozens injured.

"The Government of Nepal strongly condemns this senseless act of terrorism," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

"The GoN extends deep condolence to the Government and people of New Zealand as well as the families of the victims, and wishes for speedy recovery of those injured."
