KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 18
The government has officially declared a public holiday today to mourn the passing of former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana.
This decision was made during a Cabinet meeting held this morning.
Former Speaker Dhungana, who served as the House of Representatives Speaker from 2048 to 2051 BS, passed away at the age of 83. He breathed his last during treatment at Frontline Hospital in Baneshwor at 1:30 PM, on Sunday.
Dhungana's funeral will take place today at Pashupati Aryaghat with state honors.
