Govt focusing on saleable manpower: PM

Kavre, April 24

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said the incumbent government would produce educated manpower saleable in the international level in a matter of few years. He claimed that producing international-level manpower would change the identity of Nepal.

Inaugurating three- newly constructed buildings of Sanjiwani Model Higher Secondary School built with financial assistance from Asian Development Bank, Oli held that Nepali youths would work as experts in the international market. He said the government would prepare experts, doctors, engineers and skilled manpower that were in great demand in the international market.

Oli expressed sorrow over a Nepali youth’s identity as a physical labourer in foreign lands. He claimed that with the wave of development and prosperity, his government would change the nation’s identity. “Nepal will be reputed as land of intellectuals and experts. Digital Nepal and Educated Nepalis will help materialise this,” he added.

Oli argued that it was sad that people of the land blessed with minerals and adequate natural resources were illiterate and impoverished. He stressed the need to have education that promotes self-reliance and independence.

Oli criticised the private schools for fleecing students in the name of quality education. “It is wrong to assume that a school charging heavy fees is good,” Oli said.
