Government formed not just for nine months: PM Dahal
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal claimed the current government was formed not just for nine months.
In a live phone-in talk show, broadcast by Radio Nepal and Nepal Television this evening, the Maoist chairman, who succeeded in securing the berth of country's chief executive following an agreement with the Nepali Congress, stated the agreement with Nepali Congress did not specify the term of this government.
Dismissing the reports regarding he agreeing to hand over the premiership to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba after nine months as rumours, the second-time Prime Minister said nine months may not be enough to accomplish the responsibilities that he has to bear.
"There is an understanding between us and we will abide by it," he diplomatically said, without explaining further.
This is the first time that Dahal spoke about the life of his government.
