Govt staffers yet to report for duty in Province 7

Dhangadi, February 12

The government had approved interim quota of 287 staffers to run provincial government in Province 7. However, staffers have yet to reach temporary headquarters Dhangadi.

The first assembly meet of Province 7 has already been held and the process of electing the PA speaker is under way. But only 34 employees have reported to their work station till date, according to the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.

Failure on the part of staff to report to duty has affected the work of setting up different ministries and upgradation work of the ministries.

Secretary Pradip Raj  Kandel at the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers said no staffer had reported to the Ministry of Physical Planning  and Infrastructure, Ministry of Social Development and Ministry of  Financial Affairs and Planning.

Secretary Kandel said his office had requested the central government to deploy employees at the earliest.

Provincial Assembly, PA Parliament Secretariat, Office of the Governor, and four ministries are running with limited employees in the province. Secretary Kandel, nevertheless, said they were ready to run the provincial government efficiently in spite of limited staffers.
