Govt to provide incentives to farmers: Poudel

Hetauda, April 7

Province 3 Chief Minister Dor Mani Poudel today underscored the need for agriculture based industries in the country.

Speaking at a workshop organised by the Ministry for Land, Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperative in Hetauda, Poudel said that the government was preparing to provide incentives to farmers. He said that the government was working on engaging more youths in agriculture.

“It is necessary to introduce modern farming and production system by incorporating technology in agriculture,” he added. Poudel said the agriculture technology of Israel had to be introduced in Nepal also. CM Poudel further informed that the provincial government would introduce donation programme for agriculture.

At the programme, Land, Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperative Minister Dawa Dorjee Lama said that the province government would work keeping land conservation as top priority. Lama said that special programme would be introduced to promote bee farming and Chiuri farming in Province 3.

He said special campaign would be launched to promote agriculture with the help of cooperatives operated in the villages. Minister for Financial Affair and Planning Kailash Dhungel said with the modernisation of agriculture sector, the path for prosperity would open.
