‘Govt will nationalise closed industries'

Chitwan, April 28

Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav today said the government would nationalise industries that have pulled down their shutters.

Speaking at a press meet at Bharatpur airport, Yadav, however, said the government would support private industries in operation. Work on collecting the details of privatised industries is under way, Yadav said.

“The government will assist the industries that are operating and nationalise those that have been closed,” Yadav stated. He claimed that some industries privatised by the government had been involved in trading instead of manufacturing.

He argued that open market, privatisation and liberalisation was misunderstood in the country. He alleged that some industries run by the government had failed due to trend of looting them. “Many government industries failed and are failing as officials are involved in irregularities,” he claimed.
