LAMJUNG: The government slogan ‘Singha Durbar is right at your doorstep has remained unimplemented in Lamjung.

People have to cope with the same old plight as employees and people’s representatives are not at the office. Locals are having a hard time as the ward chair and secretary are not there at their offices in most of the local levels.

The district has 75 wards in the four municipalities and as many rural municipalities. However, 30 secretaries are looking after all 75 wards.

District Coordination Committee Chief Lokraj Pandey said he had approached the Ministry of General Administration and sought 16 ward secretaries butto no avail. Santamaya Sarki, 77 of Ward No 11, Besisahar Municipality visited Janata Bank at the headquarters twice for social security allowance. Sarki had to return empty-handed. “I visited the bank twice. But, they said my turn had not come.
