RAUTAHAT, AUGUST 8

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli today accused the incumbent government of doing nothing to solve the problems of erosion, inundation, and flood in the Tarai.

Speaking at a programme organised at Rautahat headquarters Gaur, Oli informed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured him that the problems triggered by rains in the Tarai would be solved when he held talks with Modi during his tenure as prime minister.

"I was preparing to hold talks with Prime Minister Modi to solve the problem of inundation caused by embankment constructed along the border.

But, nothing happened after I was ousted from the government," Oli added.

Oli stressed that UML was the only progressive party and was committed to eradicating corruption from the country. Oli argued that his party would form the next government after the general elections. He claimed that his government had worked to end discrimination and untouchability, and was working to usher in prosperity and development. He lashed out at the fringe communist parties for colluding with Nepali Congress to stop his party from working for the people and the country. Oli accused the government of stalling development and prosperity and expressed confidence that people would punish the ruling parties by voting for the UML.

Oli stressed the need to provide quality education to children in the Tarai Madhes.
