Govt can’t resolve problems: Baidhya

Chitwan, August 7

CPN-Maoist (Revolutionary) Chairperson Mohan Baidhya today argued that the incumbent government backed by foreign forces wouldn’t be able to solve the problems the country has been facing at present.

Speaking at a press meet organised by his party in Bharatpur of Chitwan today, Baidhya claimed that the newly formed government was no more than a succession of past ones. “This government can do nothing substantial to address the concerns of marginalised groups,” argued Baidhya.

Minor amendments in the constitution won’t address the concerns of the people. A huge change is required.

“Hence, those marginalised communities have no option but to rebel,” he claimed.

Baidhya also stressed that the squatters’ problems was important.

He said that his party was going to stage a protest on August 31 across the nation. He also ruled out the possibility of party unification in the near future. He said his party would form a unified alliance and CP Gajurel would lead it.

“The alliance will move ahead with new people-centred approach,” he said.

Baidhya accused CPN-Maoist Centre Chairperson and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of being opportunistic in forging alliance first with the CPN-UML and then the Nepali Congress.
