KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 9
Prime Minister Sushila Karki said the government has intensified its good-governance campaign alongside preparations for the upcoming election.
Speaking at a programme at Singha Durbar on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, PM Karki said the government-formed on the mandate of the Gen Z movement-cannot compromise on actions against corruption.
She stressed that reforms demanded by Gen Z may take time, but the government "will not hesitate to take strict measures" against corruption, adding that existing mechanisms are actively working toward this goal.
PM Karki also said some groups unsettled by the ongoing anti-corruption drive have issued threats, but vowed she would not be deterred. She urged government employees to remain confident and exercise their professional responsibilities fully in support of good governance.
