Thirty-seven-year-old Harka Bahadur Rai of Bhirgaun, Ward 2 of Dhankuta Municipality, had reached Malaysia nine years ago.

"We've identified the manpower company that had flown him (Harka Bahadur) abroad and also the company he joined in Malaysia. Now that we have sent his documents to the employment board, the board will coordinate with Nepal's embassy in Malaysia and in a few days we will learn about his status," Rai said.

Born in a family with very little financial means, Harka Bahadur had left behind his three children. His has two sons, aged 19 and 16, and a daughter, who is 10. While the sons are already working as daily wage labourers in Pokhara, the girl is staying with her grandparents and studies in Grade III in her own village.
