Govt looking for right time to quit
POKHARA: Unified CPN-Maoist vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai today said the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led government was looking for an appropriate time to quit. Stating that the government had done more wrongs than rights since its formation, Dr Bhattrai told media persons during a press conference organised by the Revolutionary Journalists’ Union, Tamuwan State Committee, in Pokhara that Nepal was looking for an opportunity to relinquish the seat of power.
He added that even late Girija Prasad Koirala was for toppling the incumbent government for the formation the new national unity and consensus government. He claimed that Koirala said so in the presence of Jhalanath Khanal.
He said only a unity government under the Maoist leadership could take the peace process to a logical conclusion and write the new statute. He claimed that constitution could be promulgated within two months if consensus were forged among the political forces.
