The government has decided to send medical teams and essential assistances to Turkiye in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.
A meeting of the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister Wednesday took a decision to this regard.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal termed Turkiye as a good friend of Nepal and stressed the need of joining hands with it during the crisis. "Turkiye is a good friend of Nepal."
In past it was with us during the need and emergency and it is our responsibility to stand by its side these hours of grief," he said, proposing the meeting to send medical teams and emergency goods and essential logistics as soon as possible there.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Chief of Army Staff, Parabhu Ram Sharma and committee office-bearers and members.
Turkiye was struck by a 7.8 earthquake on Monday, reporting massive losses of lives and property.
