KATHMANDU, JANUARY 11

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that he has taken the student unions' concerns regarding the fees charged by private medical colleges from MBBS, BDS, and BNS students seriously.

Receiving a memorandum submitted by different student unions at the Ministry of Home Affairs today, Minister Khand said that he would move ahead by holding serious consultations with the stakeholders.

Student unions, including Nepal Student's Union, All Nepal National Independent Student's Union (Revolutionary), All Nepal National Free Student's Union (ANNFSU), Socialist Student Union and others, submitted their memo to Minister Khand.

On the occasion, Minister Khand said that it would be easier for him if this issue came through the Ministry of Education while asking student union leaders to draw the Education minister's attention.

The agitating student unions have asked the government to probe into different private medical colleges for charging additional fees from the MBBS, BDS and BNS students, which is much more than the fees fixed by the Medical Education Commission.
