Govt to utilise skills, knowledge of youths, says Minister Bishwakarma

Bhaktapur, January 26

Minister of Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Bishwakarma has said the government has been working to utilise knowledge and skills of youths for the nation’s development.

He said so while speaking at a workshop on ‘Existing situation of youth professional artisans in Nepal’s gold and silver handmade crafts business and the role of authorised bodies in standardisation of their skills’ organised today  by Nepal Gold and Silver Handicrafts Business Association in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.

On the occasion, the minister stressed the role of youths in achieving the vision of prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali. “ This vision cannot be realised unless youths are made self-employed and self-reliant,” he added. Member of the House of Representatives Asha Kumari BK underscored the need to recognising  the skills of artisans and utilising their skills for economic development.

CTEVT director Tek Bahadur Malla said curricula for goldsmith training was being developed  for the artisans having skills but deprived of formal education.
