‘Govt’s recent decisions lawful’

Phidim, February 1

State Minister for Irrigation Amar Singh Pun today claimed the government hadn’t done anything breaching the law of the land.

Speaking at a programme in Phidim, Panchthar today, Minister Pun argued no government could revoke the recent decisions of the incumbent government. “Nepali Congress is a force that firmly believes in democratic practice and process. All the decisions taken by the government have met necessary process and method. However, the left alliance is raising questions about the government’s recent decisions,” said Pun.

Minister Pun said NC would remain in opposition for next five years as per the people’s mandate and the leaders would be work to cleanse the party besides carrying out organisational reforms. “Though we faced a humiliating defeat, holding elections was a great feat of the party and it would lead to the implementation of the new constitution. We have to empower the party by ending intra-party factionalism,” said Pun.
