GPK for young leadership in NC

BIRATNAGAR: President of the Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala urged his party cadres to assist him in handing over the party leadership to the young generation. Speaking to journalists in Biratnagar on Friday, Koirala said, “I want to handover the party leadership to the young generation of leaders. All should help me for this purpose.” He informed that they would hold the party’s national convention in mid-November after finishing all the district conventions.

Stating that there were problems within the party, Koirala said, “All the problems will be solved after

the convention.” Koirala also expressed his opinion that the country be divided into federal states on the basis of ethnicity, stating that there was a wider gap between the rich and the poor rather than the ethnic divide. “All problems of the country will be solved if we can narrow the gap between the rich and the poor,” added Koirala. Koirala will visit Birtamaod of Jhapa on Saturday to inaugurate a function.
