Graft probe begins at transport office

A team dispatched from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority started investigating corruption at Itahari Transport Management Office from today.
The team comprising CIAA Deputy Secretary Dilip Gautam, Account Officer Lekhnath Bhusal and Inspector Shivraj Basnet started field observation and investigation of the accounts section and other sections of the transport office.
CIAA eastern regional Chief Prem Prasad Bhattarai said his office had kept most of the staffers working at the Transport Office Koshi for three years, in addition to those allegedly involved in graft, under its scanner.
Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management has already suspended office chief Nayanraj Nepal.
