Of the total 43,000 earthquake victims entitled to the state grant for house construction, 38,000 have received the first instalment of the grant amount in their bank accounts in Ramechhap.

According to District Development Committee Programme Officer and Reconstruction District Contact Person Dipak Subedi, the DDC released 1.92 billion rupees in the names of 38,000 beneficiaries today.

“As for the remaining beneficiaries, the grant amount has been halted due to some technical reasons,” Subedi said that the grant amount could be sent only after verification of details of the concerned families which may yet take some time; and expressed regret for the inconvenience .
