KATHMANDU: Police in Guatemala recently arrested a man from the Central American nation's capital Guatemala City for his alleged involvement in trafficking illegal migrants from Nepal among various Asian nations.

Luis Leonardo Mejia, the suspected leader of a human trafficking ring that smuggled illegal immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Nepal, Reuters quoted local media.

He was detained in Guatemala City, on June 28.
