KATHMANDU, AUGUST 2

The Guinness World Records has recoginsed the historical summit of K2 by four siblings from Makalu of Sankhuwasabha.

According to Thaneswar Guragai, General Manager at Seven Summit Treks, the GBR has awarded a certificate to Muktu Sherpa, Ang Dawa Sherpa, Ngima Dorchi Sherpa, and Pechhumbe Sherpa for their amazing climb in the world's second highest peak.

Being part of the SST K2 expedition led by expedition director Chhang Dawa Sherpa, the four siblings from Makalu, Sankhuwasabha scaled K2 together on 27 July, 2023.

Pechhumbe was a member of 8K Expeditions while three other siblings were from SST during the K2 ascent.

"This is the record for the most siblings to climb K2 till date," Guragai said.
