Gurkha on self-mortification

DHARAN: A British Gurkha soldier is performing an austere penance otherwise called bhutapasya for nine days beginning on Monday in Dharan City Hall at Dharan-8.

Nagendra Raj Nembang, a corporal of British Gurkha, who is performing the penance, said he wants to give a message that ability of every individual should be used for the welfare of the world. Nembang has been sitting in nine feet deep pit dug in the premises of the Hall. Nembang said he had come from Falkland Islands for the penance.
