Kathmandu, January 2:

The first secretariat meeting of the Nepal Tamu Students Chhonjha Dhi held here last week after the conclusion of its fifth national conference has decided to launch an extensive three-month campaign to create awareness among the Gurung communities on the upcoming constituent assembly elections.

“We have decided to launch a campaign to make our communities aware of the CA polls and the issues we have to raise during the historic event,” the NTSCD president Nar Bahadur Tamu told this daily today. Tamu said they would advocate for ethnic autonomy for the community with the rights of self-determination and also for the federal loktantrik republican set-up in the country through CA.

He said the secretariat meeting of the central executive committee held here last week has decided to organise trainers’ training on leadership and advocacy in several districts. The meeting formed a nine-member committee for managing the campaign under the leadership of Dudh Prasad Ghale.
