Gyawali warns former king

CPN-UML Secretary Pradeep Gyawali today argued that former king Gyanendra might have to renounce his residence if he is not ready to accept republicanism in the country.
Addressing his party cadres at an interaction on constitution implementation and strengthening national unity campaign in Beshisahar of Lamjung today, Gyawali warned that the former monarch might have to quit his residence the way he had to vacate the palace before if he is not ready to accept republicanism in the country.
“Most of the achievements of the people’s movement have been institutionalised with the promulgation of the new constitution in the country. Hence, now is the time to transform the country in the socio-economic front. Gyawali claimed that the country’s inclusive constitution was the best in the world. He stressed that the country required to head towards integrated federal, inclusive socialism.
He claimed the constitution had incorporated more than 70 per cent of agendas of the party’s election manifesto.
