Health Dept wakes up to bird flu threat

Kathmandu, May 4 :

The Department of Health Services (DoHS) has formed six project groups to run “Nepal Avian Influenza Prevention and Control Project” in a bid to check spread of avian flu.

Dr Mahendra Bahadur Bista, acting director general of the department, said that the panels have to submit their reports by May 10, which will be reviewed by the co-ordination committee before finalising it by May 15.

The groups were formed after a meeting yesterday under the coordination of acting director general.
