Construction of the health post building at Diprung Chichumma Rural Municipality, Khotang, is yet to be completed even though the deadline for completion got over last year.

Locals said the contract period got over on 14 July 2017, however, construction work is yet to finish due to negligence of the contractor.

The rural municipality health department said service had been badly affected after the contractor did not complete the remaining work.

Chairman Bhupendra Rai said the Department of Urban Development and Building had spent Rs 2.48 crore for construction of the two-storeyed building. Rai said only 75 per cent construction work was completed.

Plaster work, doors, windows, toilets and fencing, among other works were yet to begin although the building was erected. The rural municipality said the contractor didn’t pay any heed although the office had frequently reminded about the need to complete the remaining work.

Meanwhile,  Shambhu Ghimire, the contractor, said the remaining work would be completed within two months.
