Hearing on Adhikari murder case continues

The hearing on Krishna Prasad Adhikari’s murder case that began in Chitwan District Court yesterday continued today as well.

Krishna Prasad of Fujel, Gorkha, was kidnapped and murdered on June 6, 2004, in Chitwan, Ratnanagar.

Today, advocates Dharmaraj Acharya, Keshav Prasad Gautam, Gopilal Devkota, Prakash Maharjan, Gyanendra Nepal, Ramesh Mainali, Dinmani Pokharel and Bhojraj Subedi argued on behalf of the defendants.

Earlier, nine persons two on behalf of Nepal government and seven on behalf of the plaintiff had participated in the hearing session yesterday.

According to court Information Officer Krishna Prasad Baral, the remaining advocates will argue on Tuesday.

“Once the argument session is over, the bench will issue order for more evidences if necessary, otherwise the final verdict will be issued,” he said.

A single bench of Judge Teknarayan Kunwar is hearing the case.

Earlier, court Registrar Gehendraraj Pant had recorded Gangamaya Adhikari’s statement from the hospital bed in Kathmandu-based Bir Hospital where the latter is undergoing treatment.

The statement was recorded on September 18.
