Budhinanda Municipality in Bajura has started 'Hello Mayor' programme' recently to listen to the complaints of the people.

The municipality dwellers can put forth their complaints directly to the mayor and the officials of the municipality round-the clock.

Mayor Janak Kumar Bohora said a toll-free number was managed to talk to the people. He said that the programme had started within two months after he was elected to the post of mayor. Bohora added that people could talk to the mayor through the phone.

"People can talk on the phone if they are in problem and their problems will be addressed immediately," he added. Acting Administrative Officer Ram DattaNeupane said that the municipality would take initiative to address the problem of the people.

"We came here to address the problems of the poor community," said Bohora. He further added that the role of people's representatives was to improve the living standard of the lower class people. He said the programme would help solve people's problems quickly. Locals could talk to the mayor and other officials of the municipality through toll-free number 16609754002.

According to the municipality, all the complaints related to education, health, drinking water, good governance, service delivery, natural disasters and accidents, among others, could be put forth through the toll-free number.

The mayor, on his first day in office, had decided to this effect.
