Help desk set up at Nepal-India border in Saptari
RAJBIRAJ, SAPTARI: A help desk has been set up at Nepal-India border point in Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality of Saptari district in a bid to provide counselling against drug abuse.
Chief District Officer Surendra Poudel inaugurated the desk amid a programme held coinciding with the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Saptari Youth Nepal and Sabal Nepal jointly established the project.
The desk aims to control drug trafficking along the border, said CDO Poudel, referring to the increasing number of drug users in Saptari lately due to open border with India.
On the occasion, Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Singh said efforts were underway to discourage drug users. He however said open border with India has posed a challenge to this end.
