PANCHTHAR: Ward Chair of Hilihang Rural Municipality-7 of Panchthar district, Tirtha Raj Timisina has died on Friday, a day after he was thrashed by locals Bhim Yokpangden and Subash Yokpangden .

Timsina had filed a police complaint against assault by Yokpangden father-son duo at District Police Office, Panchthar on Thursday.

According to Information Officer at DPO, Panchthar, Bigyan Basnet, Timsina filed a complaint saying that the accused had publicly manhandled him while throwing verbal abuses.

The victim’s kin informed that he had died en route to Jhapa in Province 1 after he faced health complications later the day he was assaulted.

On the other hand, the Yokpangden father-son duo have not been held despite charges against them. The body of Timsina has been kept at District Hospital Panchthar for autopsy.

The autopsy report would validate whether Khadka died of assault injuries or not, police said.
