Himalayan Trust constructs 7 school buildings in Solukhumbu

SOLUKHUMBU:  The Himalayan Trust recently constructed and repaired seven school buildings along with the construction of 37 new classrooms in Solukhumbu disrict.

These school buildings were damaged by the Gorkha earthquake, which occurred on April 25, 2015.

These schools were repaired and constructed at a total cost of over 48 million rupees, said Nav Bhujel, official at the Trust.

According to him, the Trust has constructed a new building at Lhamukarma-9 and 7 for elementary schools.

Similarly, the Trust has constructed rooms and repaired buildings at Soludhudhkunda Municipality-2, 3 and 5 in the district.

Edmund Hillary, the first person to climb the world's highest peak, Mt Everest, had instituted the Trust which has been assisting in school reconstruction and school children in this mountainous district.
