BARDIYA: Five of a family died of HIV/AIDS in Bhimmapur VDC in Bardiya district.

Sixteen-year-old Sangita Bhul, is however, untouched by the killer disease. Chandra Bahadur's wife, his two sons and a daughter died due to disease in the past three years, said vice-chairman of Geruwa Rural Awareness Association (GRAA) Komal Prasad Chaudhary.

Chandra Bahadur was infected with the disease after he went India in search of job opportunity.

Among the 151 cases in the district, 12 persons lost their life due to HIV/AIDS, 57 persons have been getting treatment in Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj.
