HM admits security lapses
KATHMANDU: Home Minister Bhim Bahadur Rawal has, in a recent meeting at the Nepal Police headquarters, said that despite the implementation of the special security plan across the country, the effectiveness of the same was not meeting expectations.
A source maintained that Rawal focused on improving the nation's security in the meeting. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also instructed police personnel to find out what could be done for the security of the people, the source added.
According to the source, Minister Rawal also complained that the chain of command in the police force was ineffective. Rawal reasoned that the police should have risk-bearing capacity. He assured that the government was ready to help Nepal Police in every way possible to maintain security in the country.
Meanwhile, Additional Inspector General of Police Madan Bahadur Khadka today said, "NP will analyze and find out the faults in the security plan.
