KATHMANDU: The National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has issued an alert for windstorm in the eastern region of the country.

NEOC in its tweet shared that Dhanusha, Sindhuli and Siraha districts are witnessing thunderstorm and rain which will gain momentum and the storm will be shifting towards the eastern region.

NEOC has asked the residents in the region to stay safe and alert.

Yesterday, a strong windstorm that hit Kailali and Kanchanpur districts resulted in the death of two, injuring at least 99 people.
