Home Minister stresses on resolving differences through talks
KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Bahadur Basnet has urged the disgruntled Madhesi leaders to sort out the political differences through the talks.
Stating that the ongoing agitation in various districts in the southern plains and the border blockade had hit hard the public in the country, he also appealed to them to change the form of their protest.
Speaking at a ‘Deusi Bhailo’ programme organised by the Reporters' Club today, Basnet reaffirmed that the government will seek solution to this problem without hurting and offending the sentiments of the people living in the Mountain, Hill and Terai regions.
Furthermore, he asserted that the government was utmost flexible to resolve the issues.
Minister Basnet was of the opinion that the country should be ushered to the path of eternal peace, prosperity and good governance in the aftermath of the promulgation of the national charter that, he claimed, incorporated every section of the population in the country.
“In the face of widespread fuel-shortage in the country, all of us should be united and the country should be ushered to the path of self-reliance,” Basnet remarked.
