Home Minister Thapa visits Parsa raped victim

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Friday visited a girl who was raped in Parsa last week and inquired about her health condition.

Minister Thapa visited the victim in Green City Hospital where she is receiving treatment and made commitment to take stern action against the rapist.

The Home Minister asked the medicos not to compromise on the treatment of the girl adding that government would provide support for the victim's treatment.

On the occasion, Home Minister Thapa said that the security bodies are directed to take special initiatives not to cause repetition of the rape case. He added that individuals attempting to safeguard the culprits would also face music.

The girl raped last week was admitted to the hospital on Sunday. The police have nabbed a person for his involvement in the rape case while a search for the other is ongoing.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Hospital Lok Bahadur Tandan said that the girl is being treated for free on humanitarian ground. Doctors involved in the treatment process informed that her health condition has improved gradually.
