KATHMANDU, APRIL 19
The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a nine-point directive to District Administration Offices (DAOs) nationwide, calling for the implementation of a "one-door service system" to improve public service delivery.
According to the ministry, administrative offices must introduce the system within the current fiscal year using existing resources and propose additional budget requirements for further reforms in the next fiscal year.
The directive also reminds Chief District Officers of their responsibilities in maintaining law and order, ensuring citizen safety, strengthening governance and facilitating development activities.
DAOs have been instructed to prioritise service quality, corruption control and public trust-building in line with the government's good governance action plan endorsed on March 27.
The ministry has further urged offices to expand citizen-friendly measures such as token systems, public hearings, online recommendations for citizenship services and help desks, while encouraging innovative approaches to enhance service efficiency.
