'Hopeful about PM's China visit'

Information, Communications and Technology Minister Sherdhan Rai expressed confidence that Prime Minister KP Oli's visit to China would be fruitful in terms of new deals and agreements.
Speaking at a programme here today, the minister hoped the PM's China visit would be a grand success.
"After his successful India visit that has removed misunderstandings between the two countries and facilitated the end of the blockade, we are very confident that his China visit too will be successful as during the visit various deals and agreements, including on the sustainable supply of fuel, opening of new or existing entry points, road agreements and trade and commerce agreements are most likely to be signed," he said.
Hailing the constitution as a model one in the world, Rai expressed the government’s commitment to develop the country and implement the constitution.
"The government that is formed as per the recent charter will give itself to implementation of the charter, besides doing the needful to ensure early elections of local bodies and intensifying the reconstruction of earthquake-ravaged structures," he said.
The minister also took the opportunity to dwell on the role of women for development of society and country and urged everyone to end violence and discrimination of any form against the female sex.
"In fact, our charter has also ensured 33 per cent participation of women in all organs of the state. Besides, we have women as the president and the speaker," he said.
He also pledged to change communication sector-related policies in accordance with the time.
